The virtual classroom technology is provided to us by Lignab Technologies, Inc. It is designed for online delivery of live (as opposed to pre-recorded) instruction. When you buy classes from us, there is always a real instructor explaining the material and taking student feedback into account.
- It is easy to use: the student only needs to press a link to load the applet and automatically join the class.
- There is nothing to download or install. Only the Java 1.5 or later browser plug-in is required.
- The sound is very clear, as if the instructor were in the same room.
- The shared screen allows the instructor to load and use any application to demonstrate a concept to the students. Usually, our instructors load tablet drawing applications (the rotating banner on our main page has sample screen captures of our instructors in action). The new Visiplate technology provides instant update of the remote desktop.
- The bandwidth is customizable per connection, allowing all students to join the same class whether they are connecting from Los Angeles, New York or Beijing.
- Students can type in feedback for the instructor (using a "chat" window), so the instructor can present an alternate explanation if any student doesn't quite catch on to a difficult concept.
- Students cannot speak directly to the instructor (the sound is one-way; sound is never recorded from the student's computer). This preserves the quality and professionalism of a group class for all participants.
